In The Pines

In The Pines was a project in which I was tasked to create a level from an imagined spin-off game from the Division Series. This level was named Buried Truth, and in making it, we began by creating a one-page game Design Document, a basic breakdown of the game's narrative gameplay flow and a Level Design Document. In creating this level, I researched the lore and story of the Division series to ensure that what I made fits the existing narrative. It would function as a small story set in the overarching universe. I grey-boxed the level once the documentation was finished and created the final version. I was pretty happy with how it came out, as it was the first level of mine that was fully completed in terms of design.

In The Pines showed me the extent of how much work Level Design requires and the feeling of success from having players be able to experience the intended atmosphere even if the central mechanics were not implemented.
